LONDON, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Police in the region of Northumbria (Northeast England) have confirmed they are investigating an incident which appears to involve Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on Sunday night.
A video on social media shows Pickford involved in what looks to be a fight in his home town of Sunderland, where he had traveled to see his family after playing in Everton's win away to West Ham United on Saturday.
The police have issued a statement which confirms that "at 12:19 a.m. Monday April 1, police received a report of a disturbance involving a large group of individuals on Tunstall Road, Sunderland."
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and locate those involved. Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured and no arrests have been made," concludes the statement.
Meanwhile Everton also published a communique in which the club said it had "been made aware of an alleged incident involving one of our players and we are looking into the matter."
