TAIPEI, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves reached 464.08 billion U.S. dollars at the end of March, up 143 million U.S. dollars from February, the island's monetary authority said Wednesday.
The market value of securities investment and the new Taiwan dollar-denominated deposits held by overseas investors reached 370.8 billion U.S. dollars at the end of March, according to the latest data.
Gold reserves were valued at 526.7 billion new Taiwan dollars, accounting for about 23.76 percent of Taiwan's total forex reserves.
By the end of March, banknote issuance in Taiwan reached 2.3 trillion new Taiwan dollars (about 74.74 billion U.S. dollars).
