PARIS, April 5 (Xinhua) -- In the coming days, France will send a humanitarian aid shipment to flood-hit regions in Iran, the French Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
In response to the Iranian authorities' call for assistance, France plans to airlift 12 tons of humanitarian aid, including 114 pumps, according to the ministry's statement.
Paris has also expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and extended condolences to the victims' families and relatives.
The unprecedented floods across Iran over the past weeks have claimed the lives of at least 70 people, the chief of Iran Emergency Organization told official IRNA news agency on Friday.
Since March 19, the unprecedented floods have caused massive destruction to the agricultural sector, infrastructure and the residential areas.
