RIO DE JANEIRO, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Injured Real Madrid teenager Vinicius Junior could still be included in Brazil's Copa America squad despite concerns about a lack of match fitness, according to national team coach Tite.
Vinicius has not played since suffering an ankle ligament injury in Real Madrid's 4-1 home loss to Ajax on March 5, a result that dumped the Spanish side out of the Champions League.
But Tite, whose real name is Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, indicated that the 18-year-old would be given every chance to be selected for the continental tournament, to be played in Brazil from June 14 to July 7.
"The list hasn't been finalized yet," Tite told Brazil's TV Globo. "When it comes to choosing [the squad] and looking ahead, we are not going to please everyone."
Vinicius, yet to be capped for his country, was chosen by the Brazilian Football Confederation to model the all-white uniform that the Selecao will use during the Copa America.
He is expected to resume training within days and could be available to return for Real Madrid this month, according to media reports.
Brazil have been drawn in Group A for the Copa America alongside Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela.
