LONDON, April 15 (Xinhua) -- British triple European champion Dina Asher-Smith, Jamaica's double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson, two-time world 200m champion Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands and Marie-Josee Ta Lou of Cote d'Ivoire will line-up in the women's 100m at this summer's Muller Anniversary Games - part of the IAAF Diamond League slated for July 20-21 at the London Stadium.
Home favorite Asher-Smith will take on some of the quickest women in the world, including Ta Lou, who took silver in the 100m and 200m at the 2017 World Championships and along with Asher-Smith, boasts the joint quickest time over 100m in 2018.
Sprinter Thompson won a historic double gold at the 2016 Olympic Games, and has the quickest 100m personal best of the four with 10.70 - also the fifth quickest time ever recorded. Last but not least, Asher-Smith's arch rival Dafne Schippers, who bagged the world 200m title at London 2017, will also be eyeing the 100m gold medal this year.
The quartet hold a staggering 18 Olympic and world medals, with that figure growing to 39 when taking European Championships and Commonwealth Games medals into account.
