GUANGZHOU, April 19 (Xinhua) -- A total of 198 flights were canceled as of 5 p.m. Friday at the Baiyun International Airport in south China's Guangzhou city after torrential rain hit the city.
A further 70 outbound flights at the airport have been delayed and 23 incoming planes landed at other airports.
A rain storm hit most parts of the Pearl River Delta area, including Guangzhou, and eastern Guangdong province on Friday, according to the provincial meteorological observatory.
The observatory said that rainstorms are still likely to occur in the next three days, warning the Pearl River Delta region against another round of torrential rain on Saturday.
