LONDON, April 21 (Xinhua) -- British Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the multiple bomb attacks on Sri Lankan churches and hotels that have claimed at least 138 lives and injured hundreds on Sunday.
May said in a statement that "the acts of violence against churches and hotels in Sri Lanka are truly appalling, and my deepest sympathies go out to all of those affected at this tragic time."
"We must stand together to make sure that no one should ever have to practice their faith in fear," She said.
Several explosions were reported from across Sri Lanka on Sunday as hundreds of worshipers gathered at churches to commemorate Easter Sunday, the police said.
There has been no claim of responsibility so far for the multiple blasts.
