SYDNEY, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Australia's women tennis players are eyeing their first Fed Cup title in nearly five decades after Ashleigh Barty and Samantha Stosur won their doubles match to help clinch a 3-2 semifinal win in Brisbane on Sunday.
The Aussie duo won a decisive 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 match against Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in one hour and 55 minutes at the Pat Rafter Arena in the Queensland state capital.
The hosts are to play the final against the winner between France and Romania, who tied at 1-1 late Sunday.
Australia, who won their previous Fed Cup in 1974, last appeared at a Fed Cup finals in 1993, when they finished second to Spain.
