BEIJING, April 26 (Xinhua) -- China will introduce experts to trials on technical intellectual property right (IPR) cases, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) announced Friday.
The SPC has issued a regulation on experts participating in the trial process, which will come into effect starting May 1.
The courts will designate "technical investigators" in litigations of IPR cases in areas such as patent, plant of new varieties, integrated circuit, computer software and monopolies, according to the regulation.
Their opinions will be regarded as reference for verifying technical facts in the cases.
The SPC said the introduction of expertise professionals will make the verification of technical facts more neutral, objective and science-based, so as to give full play to IPR judicial protection.
