PARIS, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Monaco striker Radamel Falcao scored two second-half goals to cancel out Adrien Hunou's early double in a 2-2 draw at Rennes in the 34th round of Ligue 1 on Wednesday.
Rennes, crowned French Cup champions last weekend, just wasted three minutes to move ahead, as Hunou was left unmarked at the back post to sidefoot James Lea Siliki's cross home. Six minutes later, Hunou scored his second goal of the match with a low shot in front of goalkeeper Seydou Sy.
It was Falcao that grabbed the spotlight after the restart. The Colombian forward headed home from a Djibril Sidibe cross in the 69th minute. After Sidibe's effort was denied by goalkeeper Tomas Koubek, Falcao was on position to finish an acrobatic volley at target for his 14th league goal of the campaign in the 75th minute.
With crucial one point in their attempt to avoid relegation, Monaco move past Amiens at 16th with better goal difference, while Rennes stay 11th.
Paris Saint-Germain, having already bagged the Ligue 1 title, conceded their third straight road defeat in league with a 3-2 loss to Montpellier on Tuesday.
