PARIS, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Europe's leading airline Air France-KLM posted a 9.2-percent growth in passenger numbers last month from a year ago, the flag carrier said on Friday.
The airline numbered 7.46 million passengers in April, excluding figures from Transavia, a wholly owned subsidiary of KLM, up 8.8 percent from the same month last year.
The activity's load factor, which measures how much of an airline's passenger carrying capacity is used, gained 0.7 points percentage to 88.6 percent, the group's monthly data showed.
The traffic of Latin American networks last month was the company's star performer following a 12.7-percent growth, while numbers of Africa and Middle East destinations inched up by 1.2 percent year on year.
Cargo activity of the Franco-Dutch joint venture gained momentum over the period, but the load factor stood at 59.3 percent, down by 1.8 percentage points.
