Beekeepers Liu Huilin (R) and Li Cheng of a bee cultivation cooperative collect honey at Yingwan Village of Longnan City, northwest China's Gansu Province, May 10, 2019. Nestled in remote mountainous area, Yingwan village faced the challenge to get rid of poverty. In 2017, villagers started to produce honey through a newly-founded bee cultivation cooperative with support from local government. Beekeepers here, who combine the traditional way of bee-keeping with modern processing method, find a broader market through online platforms. The cooperative is now running over 2,000 beehives, each of which is able to bring 3,000-4,000 yuan (440-586 U.S. dollars) per year. (Xinhua/Ma Ning)
