KABUL, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A young Afghan lady working for the country's national parliament was shot and killed by gunmen in Kabul in a latest targeted attack on Saturday, Ministry of Interior Affairs spokesman said.
"Mina Mangal was shot and killed in Kart-e-Naw neighborhood, Police District 8 roughly at 7:20 a.m. local time," spokesman Nasrat Rahimi tweeted.
Mangal, a former journalist, served as an advisor to Cultural Commission of the Afghan Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of the parliament.
The gunmen fled the scene after the shooting and an investigation has been undertaken, he said.
No group has claimed the incident yet.
The shooting came as the Taliban militants have intensified attacks since they launched an offensive in early April and the armed outfit considers anyone working for government as a target.
