BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 87 countries and regions have signed up for the 2019 FIP General World Stamp Exhibition in the central Chinese city of Wuhan from June 11 to June 17, the State Post Bureau (SPB) said Tuesday.
The exhibition is expected to feature 4,700 framed sets of stamps, 2,500 of which are from overseas exhibitors, according to Dai Yingjun, vice head of the SPB.
It will also showcase collections of stamps that the People's Republic of China has issued since its founding 70 years ago.
It will be the third time that China hosts the world stamp exhibition. The exhibition this year will be of larger scale and feature more innovation, according to the SPB.
China joined the FIP, the international association for stamp collectors and philatelists, in 1983 and hosted the world stamp exhibition in 1999 and 2009.
