ROME, May 17(xinhua) -- The world No. 3 Roger Federer withdrew from his trip in Rome due to a right leg injury on Friday.
Federer had entered the finals for four times in the Italian Open. He just won through 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 against the 13th-ranked Croatia's Borna Coric in third round on Thursday.
The Swiss star, 20-time Grand Slam winner, was playing in Rome to prepare for his return to the French Open for the first time since 2015.
