KAMPALA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Ivan Nedelko lifted the men's singles title at the 2019 International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Pro Circuit 2 on Sunday.
Nedelko, who also won Circuit 1, needed 1 hour 41 minutes to defeat Lithuania's Julius Tverijonas 6-1, 6-4 in the final played in Uganda's capital Kampala.
Having made it into the tournament's main draw through the qualifying rounds, Tverijonas fought back strongly after a poor start in the first set, but failed to match Nedelko.
"I am happy that despite playing through the qualifiers, I managed to reach the final," the Lithuanian said.
To reach the final, Tverijonas defeated Ireland's Simon Carr 7-5, 7-5, while Nedelko saw off Burundi's Guy Orly Iradukunda 6-1, 6-2.
In the doubles final, top seeds Anirudh Chandrasekar and Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha from India defeated Carr and England's Ryan James Storrie 6-3, 6-4.
Action continues on Monday with qualifiers for Circuit 3.
