The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 0.91 points, or 0.06 percent, at 1,553.34.
Real estate, farm and fishery, and land transportation-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
