BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Wednesday met with a visiting delegation from the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) Hong Kong.
CGCC Hong Kong has been a backbone patriotic organization in Hong Kong and played a constructive role in maintaining prosperity and stability in the region and advancing the nation's development, said Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.
Wang urged the organization to contribute to Hong Kong's effort to integrate its own development into the overall development of the country.
He also called on the organization to have a comprehensive and precise understanding of the "one country, two systems" principle, actively promote it and support the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government and its chief executive in exercising law-based governance.
