BEIJING, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Disney's "Aladdin" topped the box office of the Chinese mainland market Friday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network Saturday.

The live-action film grossed 27.37 million yuan (3.97 million U.S. dollars) on the first day of its release.

It was followed by Chinese concert film "Mayday Life," which took in 10.09 million yuan.

Coming in the third was "Pokemon Detective Pikachu," which earned 8.26 million yuan.
