BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- A drama about the Communist Party of China's role in building the Red Army was re-staged in the National Theatre of China Wednesday.
"Whole Night Meeting in Sanwan" represents a historical meeting held in Sanwan, now in east China's Jiangxi Province, in September 1927. The meeting required strengthened leadership of the Party over the armed forces and equality between officers and soldiers.
What happened that night is important both to history and the future of China, said scriptwriter Wang Baoshe.
Director Yin Hongyi said the drama would remind audiences of the key turning point in history ahead of the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
The drama debuted in January.
