SARAJEVO, June 3 (Xinhua) -- An Eurowings plane landed on Monday at Sarajevo International Airport (SIA), connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH's) capital Sarajevo and German capital Berlin.
Planes will depart from SIA twice a week, on Monday and Friday, SIA said in a press statement on Monday.
SIA pointed out that the successful cooperation between SIA and this low-cost German carrier is continued by the introduction of the new line.
The new line directly contributes to strengthening the economic image of the country and the development of tourist potentials, and offers a wider choice when it comes to European and world destinations, SIA added in the statement.
This connection is of special importance to many citizens of BiH who live and work in Germany, but also for tourists from this part of Europe who are increasingly visiting BiH.
The low-cost airline already links Sarajevo with two cities in Germany, Cologne and Stuttgart.
