BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of Huishan clay sculpture kicked off recently at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC), titled "The Life of Clay."
Over 120 pieces of fine clay sculptures from Huishan of Wuxi in east China's Jiangsu Province are on display, presenting the historic look and development of the clay sculptures, which originated centuries ago and are now famous across China.
With the cultural and natural heritage day coming, the NAMOC staged this exhibition aiming to stir discussion on the value and prospect of this cultural heritage, said Wu Weishan, the curator.
The museum will also invite craftsman to make clay sculptures on the spot and give lectures during the exhibition, which will end on June 16.
