WINDHOEK, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The Namibian senior men's rugby team recorded their first win Sunday, in the World Rugby Nations Cup after beating the hosts Uruguay 30-28 at the Charrua Stadium in Montevideo.
Namibia put up a spirited performance as they recovered from their opening loss in the tournament against Argentina XV on June 4.
"I am very proud of the player's performance, we have played well to date and the performance was just a reward for the team's efforts," Namibia's head coach, Phil Davies said.
Davies said Namibia is moving in the right direction considering they defeated the Uruguay team which is ranked way better than Namibia in the world rankings.
Meanwhile, Namibia's last game is against Russia on June 15 and according to Davies it is set to be an interesting game for the 'minnows' as they seek to maintain the current momentum after defeating Uruguay.
