DUBAI, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday launched an emergency campaign to provide relief aid to those hit by heavy rains and floods in Aden and other Yemeni cities, official news agency WAM reported.
The volunteer teams of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) have arrived in the areas affected by the rains to evaluate the losses and provide relief aid, including draining rainwater from streets and residential areas and offering relief materials and shelter for the displaced, WAM said.
The UAE Humanitarian Operations Director for Yemen said this campaign is supporting the relief efforts of the local authorities in Aden and Lahj.
