ACCRA, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of Ghana's Black Stars Kwesi Appiah on Monday named his final 23-man squad for this month's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Five players could not make Appiah's list after the team's one-week camping in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Defender Nuhu Musah missed Ghana's AFCON participation through injury.
The Black Stars will play their second warm-up game against South Africa's Bafana Bafana on June 15, after losing 1-0 to Namibia in the first test match on Sunday, before traveling to Egypt on June 20 for the competition.
Ghana, which has not won the nations' cup since it annexed it in 1982 in Libya, are in Group F alongside Cameroon, Benin, and Guinea Bissau.
The 2019 AFCON, with its new 24-team format, will be held from June 21 to July 19.
The top two from each group plus the best four third-placers will go through to the last 16.
