KIEV, June 26 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of intangible cultural heritage of Shandong Province in east China was opened in Kiev on Wednesday.
Shandong's deputy governor Yu Jie, representatives of the Chinese embassy to Ukraine, and Ukrainian deputy minister of culture attended the event in the capital of Ukraine.
The attendants praised cultural cooperation between Ukraine and China and expressed the hope that the exhibition and other events will open the doors to more intercultural projects.
"I am pleased to state that cultural cooperation between our countries is constantly growing. I would like to remind you about last year's exhibition of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine held in the Forbidden City in Beijing. Also, I want to mention the growth in the number of educational projects held by our colleges. We sincerely invite Chinese students to our schools," said Svitlana Fomenko, Ukrainian first deputy minister of culture.
"Ukraine, with its long history and rich culture, is also a world recognized tourist attraction. We hope that today's event will give a push to cooperation between our countries in the culture and tourism field and contributes to deepening the friendship between the Chinese and Ukrainian people," said Yu.
