BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan Day was observed Saturday at the ongoing International Horticultural Exhibition in Beijing.

The theme day event featured performances of traditional tea culture and an outdoor wind band concert of popular music from the island.

Activities were also arranged to promote cross-Strait tourism and agricultural products from Taiwan.

A delegation from the city of Taichung and more than 100 representatives of Taiwan compatriots living in Beijing attended the event.
