BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- "The White Storm 2: Drug Lords," a Chinese anti-drug action film, continued leading the Chinese mainland box office on Sunday, China Movie Data Information Network showed Monday.
The film raked in about 135.67 million yuan (19.7 million U.S. dollars), accounting for over 52 percent of the daily total.
It was followed by "Spider-Man: Far from Home," the latest installment of the acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe, which grossed nearly 69.83 million yuan.
Universal and Illumination's "The Secret Life of Pets 2" ranked third, grossing about 25.66 million yuan.
The Oscar-winning Japanese animated film "Spirited Away" pulled in 11.08 million yuan, making it the fourth highest-grossing film Sunday.
