YANGON, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized a total of 1.54 kg of heroin from a motorbike in Sagaing region, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) Friday.
The seizure was made by the township police personnel in Indaw township late Thursday.
A bag filled with heroin worth over 154 million kyats (102,667 U.S. dollars) was confiscated from a motorbike on the roadside on Shwebo-Myitkyina road during the township police force's patrol operations at 07:40 p.m. local time.
A suspect in connection with the case was filed a case by the police under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
