JAKARTA, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian national sports committee has set a target of at least three gold medals during 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines this year, chairman of the committee Marciano Norman said on Friday.
The chairman made the target on the ground that the country's lifters were on form and had been turning their best performances recently.
"They have broken several world records including in junior and senior categories. So that in the upcoming SEA Games we expect to get at least three gold medals," he said.
The chairman cited that several athletes competing in the games had secured world's titles in previous international championships.
"Let's support them, I think they will make us proud one day," Chaniago was quoted by Antara news wire as saying.
Currently the lifters are preparing for the games by having a national training camp in the country's capital of Jakarta.
The 30th biennial regional multi-sport event is scheduled to be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11.
