BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The fifth Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition is scheduled to open on Saturday night at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
The competition, hosted by the NCPA, aims to promote ballet in China, encourage international ballet exchanges, scout for ballet talent and augment the influence of the NCPA.
World-class artists, Julio Bocca and Valentin Elizariev, will take the chair of the jury for the classic ballet and choreography competition respectively.
Sparkling galas gathering a number of top-level dance artists are planned for July 20 and 21. Tickets for the opening, closing ceremony, and contests are up for sale.
The event has been held every two years since 2011, and this year's competition will run from July 13 to 21.
