LONDON, July 21 (Xinhua) -- China's Xie Zhenye broke the Asian men's 200 meters record as he won the title in 19.88 seconds at the IAAF Diamond League here on Sunday.
Xie, who won the event at the same stadium last year in the World Cup, outsprinted local hero Miguel Francis, who finished second in 19.97.
It was the first time that the Chinese sprinter ran under 20 seconds, which helped him break the Asian record of 19.97 set by Nigerian-born Femi Ogunode of Qatar in 2015.
