YANGON, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized narcotic drugs including heroin and stimulant tablets worth over 2.34 billion kyats (1.56 million U.S. dollars) in Shan state, according to Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Wednesday.
The seizure was made by the military personnel during their patrol operations in Mabane township on Tuesday.
Soap boxes filled with 2.16 kg of heroin worth over 41 million kyats (27,360 U.S. dollars) were confiscated from two motorbikes, along with 1.15 million stimulant tablets worth over 2.3 billion kyats (1.53 million U.S. dollars).
Further investigation to capture the suspect in connection with the case is underway.
