HANOI, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Luong Thuy Linh, a 19-year-old student at the Foreign Trade University in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi, became Miss World Vietnam 2019 on Saturday night after topping a Vietnamese beauty contest.
The 1.77-meter high girl from northern Cao Bang province outperformed 38 other young women in the final round of the beauty pageant held in central Da Nang city.
Linh will represent Vietnam to attend the 2019 Miss World slated for December in England.
As Miss World Vietnam 2019, Linh wore a crown made from gold, pearls, diamond and gemstones worth 3 billion Vietnamese dong (130,000 U.S. dollars). She also got a cash award of 300 million Vietnamese dong (13,000 U.S. dollars).
