BELGRADE, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Serbia's Red Star and Denmark's Copenhagen tied 1-1 in the third qualification round of the UEFA Champions League in Belgrade on Tuesday.
Despite the domination in the opening period in front of some 40,000 fans at the Rajko Mitic stadium, the Red Star did not create a solid chance for goal.
The deadlock was broken in the 43rd minute when Milan Pavkov of the Red Star unleashed a fierce shot.
Danish champion launched counterattacks in the second half and managed to direct their first shot towards the Red Star's goal in the 46th minute.
However, they did not manage to turn their domination into a goal until the 83rd minute when a penalty was awarded.
Copenhagen's Jonas Wind easily beat goalkeeper Milan Borjan from the spot to set the score even in the 84th minute.
The two teams will play their second leg in Copenhagen on August 13.
