NINGBO, China, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Canada edged China 24-26, 25-21, 25-17, 23-25 and 17-15 in a men's Pool F match at the FIVB Volleyball Olympic Qualification here on Saturday.
Liu Libin and Nicholas Hoag contributed 20 points each for China and Canada.
China shook off a sluggish start after the technical time out, rallying from 3-8 to win the first set 26-24.
Canada regained momentum and fired thunderous spikes to take the following two sets 25-21, 25-17, as China was also mired by their own errors.
In the fourth set, China took the lead for the majority of time. After Canada tied the score 20-all, Jiang Chuan rose to the occasion with ferocious attacks and forced for a decider where China wasted the match point at 14-13 and the Canadians walked off as winners 17-15.
Earlier on Saturday, Argentina defeated Finland 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 26-24 for their second win to lead Pool F. China and Canada, both with a 1-1 record, sits second and third.
Only the winner from the round-robin pool will qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
China will face Argentina on Sunday while Finland will seek their first victory against Canada.
