SOFIA, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Brazil and Bulgaria won again at the men's volleyball Olympic qualification in Varna on Saturday, and their direct clash on Sunday will decide a ticket to Tokyo 2020.
The South Americans smashed Egypt 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-14), while Bulgaria beat Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-12).
On Friday in the first day of the round robin tournament, Brazil beat Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-19), and the hosts defeated Egypt 3-1 (25-11, 33-31, 19-25, 25-19).
"I would not want to draw any general conclusions from this victory," Bulgaria coach Silvano Prandi said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Television after the match with Puerto Rico.
"The opponent's level was not so high but at the same time we played well and ultimately achieved our main goal -- to get a second victory in this tournament and to think fully about the match with Brazil," Prandi said.
Brazil has won three Olympic titles and has played in every single edition of the Olympic Games since volleyball was introduced in Tokyo 1964. Bulgaria has only one silver Olympic medal and missed Rio 2016.
