Dramatic landscape and breathtaking views have made Yunnan the trendiest tourist destination in China.
BEIJING, Aug. 13, 2019 (Xinhua) -- Yunnan Province, located in southwestern China, is rich in biodiversity thanks to its advantageous natural conditions of abundant plateau mountains and distinct climates. The forest coverage in Yunnan has reached 60.3 percent, and the province is known as "Animal Kingdom" and "Plant Kingdom".
Yunnan set forth the aim of building it into the most beautiful province in China. It has put great efforts in promoting ecological civilization construction by changing its mode of development and developing green and healthy industries.

During the 12th Five-year Plan period (2011-2015), Yunnan Province phased out over 23.98 million tonnes of outdated production capacities in total. The water quality of the province's nine plateau lakes, including Fuxian Lake, Lugu Lake and Dian Lake, is also continuously improving. Yunnan is on its way of green development.
