MAIMANA, Afghanistan, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- At least two militants were killed and two others sustained injuries as clash broke out in Garziwan district of the northern Faryab province on Monday, an army spokesman in the northern region Abdul Ghafar Nuristani said Tuesday.
The clash erupted after a group of Taliban insurgents attacked the security checkpoints of the national army units in Garziwan district on Monday afternoon and the troops retaliated, killing two insurgents on the spot and wounding two others, and forcing the militants to flee.
Taliban militants have not made comments yet.
