BEIRUT, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri told the head of the United Nations on Friday that Israel bears full responsibility for Sunday's attack in Beirut's southern suburbs.
"This unacceptable act threatens the stability and peace that has prevailed on the international border for 13 years," Hariri said in a telephone call to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, a statement by Hariri's office said.
On August 25, an Israeli drone was brought down over the southern suburbs of Lebanon's capital Beirut, while a second one exploded in the air, causing severe damage to a media center belonging to Hezbollah.
This is the first clear Israeli attack against Lebanon since 2006.
Hariri warned that any escalations by Israel will drag the region into "an unaccounted for conflict."
Hariri also called for the international community to put pressure on Israel to comply with resolution 1701.
