BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The revival play of "Hong Yan," a well-known Chinese revolutionary novel, made its debut Monday in Beijing by the art troupe of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
Titled "The Spirit of Hong Yan," the play, first put on stage in 2015, was inspired by true revolutionary stories that occurred in the 1940s.
The play unfurls four different storylines showcasing the revolutionary faith and spirit of the members of the Communist Party of China.
The stage is equipped with multi-media devices to create strong contrasts in sound, color and brightness in order to reproduce the intensity of the reality at that time and depict the inward world of the heroic figures.
The novel, first published in 1961, still registers seismic activity and has been adapted into TV series.
