NEW DELHI, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indian Home Minister (Internal Security) Amit Shah said the private security agency sector has the potential of providing employment in the country, an official statement said on Tuesday.
According to the statement by Ministry of Home Affairs, Shah said that the private security agency sector is of vital importance for the safe and secure business environment and achieve Prime Minister's vision of five-trillion-U.S. dollar economy by providing employment as well as guarding vital corporations and financial hubs in the country.
He hailed the private security sector as one with "huge potential" and stressed on the need to increase the trustworthiness of the sector by increasing the number of agencies with licenses.
He added that private security personnel must maintain regular contact with the nearest police station and act as a connector between police and the public.
