RABAT, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan government announced Wednesday to take firm measures to tackle the rise of hooliganism, after the death of a football fan.
One person was killed and five wounded in clashes Tuesday night on a highway near Casablanca, Morocco economic hub, between supporters of Wydad Casablanca and Rabat's Armed Forces Club FAR.
Police said that 22 people were arrested and charged with vandalism and destruction, between them five minors.
According to a statement of the department of head of government, "the government decided to take all necessary precautions and firm measures to prevent such criminal acts from recurring."
A small ministerial cabinet gathered Wednesday to discuss prompt measures to secure football match, it added.
