RABAT, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The active portfolio of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Morocco has exceeded 3 billion U.S. dollars at the end of September.
This portfolio has totaled 35 operations making the North African country the top client of the Bank, said the latest Synthetic Review of the Bank's results, unveiled Thursday in Rabat.
The performance of the Bank's portfolio in Morocco is "very satisfactory," said Rudolphe Petras, senior results specialist at AfDB, who presented the review.
On a scale of 1 to 4, Morocco progressed from 2.6 in 2009 to 3.7 in 2018 in the absence of risky projects, Petras added.
The review underlined the significant progress made by Morocco in the areas of governance, business climate improvement, gender equality, renewable energy and the fight against climate change.
Since 1970, the AfDB group has invested more than 10 billion dollars in multiple strategic sectors of the Moroccan economy, it added.
