COLOMBO, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's national air carrier, SriLankan Airlines, on Saturday said its flight from Colombo to Narita in Japan had been delayed due to Typhoon Hagibis.
"SriLankan UL460 which was scheduled to depart on October 12 has been delayed till October 13," the airline said in a statement.
"SriLankan Airlines is closely monitoring the situation. We regret the inconvenience caused. The safety and comfort of our customers remain our first priority," the airline added.
Millions of people across Japan have been advised to evacuate their homes due to fears of flooding, as the super typhoon approaches, which experts have warned could be more powerful and destructive than the 1958 storm that left 1,269 people dead.
