NANNING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Enric Mas Nicolau of Deceuninck-Quick Step won the 2019 Gree UCI WorldTour Tour of Guangxi after the sixth and final stage on Tuesday.
The Spaniard cyclist, clocking his winning time of 22 hours, 42 minutes and 42 seconds, kept the red and white jerseys till the end as overall individual leader and the best young rider respectively.
Pascal Ackermann of Bora-Hansgrohe claimed his second win in the sixth and final stage in three hours and 38 minutes after taking the stage 3 earlier. The German cyclist also took the blue jersey as the best sprinter.
Lotto-Soudal was awarded the best team and its Polish cyclist Tomasz Marczynski got the polka dot jersey for the best climber.
Stage 6 of the 2019 UCI Tour of Guangxi was a 168.3km circle race around Guilin with three sprints and two climbs.
A group of five riders including Chinese Wang Meiyin of Bahrain Merida led for a long time before they were caught up in the final eight kilometers. A sudden tumble of a Bahrain Merida cyclist broke the peloton in a curve of the last 300m, while Ackermann rushed ahead thanks to the cooperation from his teammates.
Nicolau said he was really happy to claim his first overall win at Tour of Guangxi before transferring to Movistar next year. "I hope I can come back to the Tour of Guangxi," said Nicolau.
Chloe Hosking Sperotto of Ale Cipollini won the 2019 UCI Women's WorldTour Tour of Guangxi in Guilin on Tuesday.
