BEIRUT, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Kurds held a protest Friday over the Turkish military operation in Syria's Kurdish-held Afrin region, the LBCI TV reported.
The Turkish offensive, dubbed "Operation Olive Branch," began Saturday with the aim of clearing YPG Kurdish militia fighters from Afrin.
Some 200 protesters gathered in front of the Turkish embassy in Metn's Rabieh, raising Kurdish flags and chanting words against Turkey's offensive, according to the report.
Internal Security Forces cut off the road about 3 km from the embassy, redirecting traffic to a side road.
More than 1,000 protesters demonstrated in front of the Russian Embassy in Lebanon Monday, due to perceived support of Russia to the Turkish offensive. Enditem
