BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhua) -- One of Russian playwright Anton Chekhov's plays by Lithuania's Oskaras Korsunovas Theatre (OKT) will be staged in Beijing starting Wednesday.
The OKT show of "The Seagull" was performed at the Capital Theatre in downtown Beijing Wednesday, which kicked off the 2018 Beijing People's Art Theatre International Festival. The Capital Theatre is run by the Beijing People's Art Theatre.
"The Seagull" portrays the tangled relationships and professional lives of four major characters. The performance in Beijing will be "faithful to the Chekhov play's original nature as a serious comedy," according to the website of the Beijing People's Art Theatre, which has helped the import of the OKT show in cooperation with China Arts and Entertainment Group.
The 2018 Beijing People's Art Theatre International Festival will feature seven plays from six different countries in four months.
"The Seagull" show will be on from March 14 to 17.
