TOKYO, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks moved in narrow range Tuesday morning as investors bought back shares oversold during a sell-off a day earlier, but sold on the back of Chinese shares' retreat.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 6.20 points, or 0.03 percent, from Monday to 21,805.73.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 1.59 points, or 0.09 percent, to 1,696.88.
Oil and coal product, mining and air transportation issues comprised notable advances, while nonferrous metal, marine transportation and precision instrument issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
