KIEV, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Civilians affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine received humanitarian aid from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), authorities said on Friday.
Ukraine State Border Guard Service said in a statement that 17 trucks delivered 294 tons of aid to residents of Donetsk region in the previous two days.
The assistance includes construction materials, medicines and other relief supplies.
According to the UN, the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine, which has been underway since April 2014, left some 4 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.
